October 9, 2026

As part of their official engagements in Finland, the distinguished delegation connected to the historic Legacy Awards initiative paid an important visit to the City of Espoo to explore opportunities in business development, innovation, inclusion, education, and international cooperation.
The visit formed part of the entourage’s broader vision of creating meaningful partnerships between African institutions, diaspora-led initiatives, and Finnish organisations. Hosted through the international network of Ceci Educare Oy and led by Cecilia Naadensua Quarshie, the engagement reflected a growing interest in Finland’s forward-thinking approach to sustainable growth, entrepreneurship, and multicultural collaboration.
Espoo is widely recognised for its strong support of innovation, startup ecosystems, research partnerships, and inclusive economic development. The city has built an international reputation for encouraging entrepreneurship, supporting technology-driven businesses, and creating opportunities for both local and international communities to thrive together. Through its business-friendly environment and cooperation with universities, investors, and global companies, Espoo continues to position itself as one of Finland’s leading centres for innovation and enterprise.
The delegation also admired Espoo’s commitment to inclusiveness, diversity, equal opportunity, and community wellbeing. The city’s efforts to create welcoming spaces for international residents, entrepreneurs, students, and multicultural communities strongly aligned with the delegation’s own values of unity, cultural exchange, empowerment, and global cooperation.
Discussions during the visit focused on future possibilities in education, youth empowerment, cultural diplomacy, tourism, international trade, and diaspora entrepreneurship. The visit further strengthened mutual understanding between African and Finnish stakeholders while opening doors for future collaborations that promote economic growth, intercultural dialogue, and long-term international partnerships.
