Women play significant roles in families, workplaces, businesses, civil society and community development. Across Nigeria, women continue to demonstrate leadership and resilience in different sectors. However, many women, particularly young and emerging professionals, entrepreneurs and community leaders, still face barriers that affect their confidence, professional advancement and participation in leadership and decision-making.
These barriers may include limited access to leadership development opportunities, professional networks, mentorship, communication skills, career guidance, financial knowledge and platforms for meaningful engagement with other women leaders.
There is an opportunity to create a platform that brings women together to learn, connect, share experiences and develop practical skills that can strengthen their personal and professional growth.ELEVATE HER:
The Queens Summit 2027 is therefore conceived as a one-day leadership and professional development event designed to equip women with practical skills, knowledge and networks needed to become more confident, effective and influential leaders.
The programme will begin with an orientation and application phase in November 2026, allowing prospective participants to understand the vision, expectations and opportunities available through the summit before the main event in January 2027.
The summit will bring together women from different professional, entrepreneurial, academic, civil society and community backgrounds for an intensive day of learning, mentorship, networking and experience sharing.
Although women possess significant leadership potential and contribute substantially to economic and social development, many lack access to affordable and practical opportunities for leadership and professional development.
Women who are at the beginning or transition stages of their careers may struggle with effective communication, public speaking, personal branding, networking, negotiation, decision-making and professional confidence.
Similarly, women entrepreneurs and community leaders may require stronger skills in financial management, advocacy, strategic networking and organisational leadership.
Furthermore, limited opportunities for women to connect with experienced professionals and other emerging leaders can restrict access to mentorship, collaboration and professional opportunities.
There is therefore a need for accessible platforms that provide women with practical leadership and professional development skills while creating opportunities for networking, mentorship and peer learning.
To strengthen the leadership, professional and personal capacities of women by providing a practical platform for learning, networking, mentorship and empowerment.
The summit will seek to:
1. Enhance women’s leadership capacity through practical training on leadership, decision-making and effective communication.
2. Strengthen professional competencies in areas such as public speaking, emotional intelligence, personal branding, networking and career development.
3. Promote women’s confidence and self-leadership by encouraging participants to recognise and maximise their skills, experiences and leadership potential.
4. Improve women’s knowledge of financial and entrepreneurial opportunities that can contribute to greater economic independence.
